During a Political Consultations Meeting The Czech Republic Stressed the Importance of Promoting and Developing Bilateral Relations Between the Two Countries

The Annual Political consultations between the State of Palestine and the Czech Republic was held on Sunday under the leadership of the Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and expatriates for European affairs, Ambassador Dr. Amal Jadou, and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Mr. Martin Tlapa, in the presence of the representative of the Czech Republic to the State of Palestine, Mr. Petr Starý , director of the Eastern Europe Department of the Ministry, Counsellor Mervat Hassan, the Czech Republic desk officer, Third Secretary Mahmoud al-Shaikh, and the diplomatic attaché, Najla Abu Shalbak. at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates headquarters in Ramallah. 

During the meeting, Dr. Jadou briefed the delegation on the  latest political developments on the Palestinian situation and reflected on the difficult economic situation in Palestine due to the actions of the administration of the United States, which worked to cut the full humanitarian assistance and the occupation government's piracy of Palestinian funds through deductions from funds Clearing on the pretext that it is money paid to the families of martyrs and prisoners, confirming the position of the Palestinian leadership in its national commitment to the families of martyrs and wounded and prisoners of Palestine, and rejecting all restrictions and pressures aimed at compromising national constants. She warned that the Palestinian economic situation was more precarious than its collapse.

Ambassador Jadou also referred to the escalation of Israeli violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, in particular the Israeli settlements construction and land confiscation, which is contrary to all resolutions of international legitimacy and undermines the peace process and the establishment of a Palestinian state. Ambassador Jadou addressed the racist laws adopted by the Israeli Knesset, such as the law of nationalism, and the systematic policy of the right-wing Israeli government to stifle the Palestinian government in the face of the re-election of Israel in September next month.

In the light of recent political developments in the Middle East, Ambassador Jadou stressed the centrality of the Palestinian issue, which will remain at the top of the priorities of the Arabs in particular and of the international community as a whole, as the resolution of this conflict has fundamental repercussions on the Middle East peace process, stressing that leadership Is committed to its stance towards a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital.

In turn, H.E Mr. Martin Tlapa confirmed the Czech Republic's position on the Palestinian issue, the two-state solution and the right to self-determination, in support of the Palestinian government. H.E  stressed the importance of providing humanitarian support through financing projects that benefit different groups of society, increasing economic cooperation, providing expertise in various sectors such as health, education, agriculture, and energy, In addition, his excellency suggested initiating academic and educational cooperation between the two countries.
