Minister Dr. Malki meets his Polish counterpart
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and expatriates Dr. Riad Malki met with his Polish counterpart, Mr. Jacek Czaputowicz, at the Polish Foreign Ministry in the capital Warsaw, during his visit on Monday at the invitation of the Polish Foreign minister.
The minister began the meeting by thanking the Polish Government for its continued support to the Government and the Palestinian people, and thanking them for their positive vote on the WHO draft resolution on health conditions in Palestine; being the only state of the Great (Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia) That voted positively on the resolution and their continued support to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) after the US aid cut.
The Minister briefed Mr. Jacek Czaputowicz on the latest political developments in Palestine and Israeli violations, and touched on the deal of the century and its repercussions not only on the Palestinian issue but on the region as a whole. Referring to the conference held in Warsaw last February, which discussed several sensitive issues related to the Middle East, Minister al-Maliki called on the Polish Government to adhere to its positions that are consistent with the EU-United Nations stance based on the two-state solution.
H.E. Dr. Riad Maliki was invited to strengthen the Palestinian-Polish relationship by activating the Joint Ministerial Committee and by increasing the development projects benefiting the Palestinian citizen, and also invited the Polish side to work to re-activate support in the education sector by providing Scholarships for Palestinian students.
In his turn, the Polish foreign minister praised the good relationship between the Palestinian and Polish sides and stressed the Polish Government's support for the Palestinian cause and their commitment to the European Union's position and belief in the peaceful solution of the two-state solution on the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine. The Foreign Minister also stressed the intention of the Polish Government not to relocate its embassy to Jerusalem and the intention of Poland to commit its support to the Government and the Palestinian people
The meeting ended after the two ministers held a press conference in which they expressed their honor for the positive outputs of the meeting, and answered the questions of the journalists.
The meeting was attended by the Palestinian Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, H.E. Dr. Amal Jadou, Ambassador of Palestine to the Polish Republic, Dr. Mahmoud Khalifa, Third Secretary Alaa Jadallah, from the embassy's crew, the diplomat Monther Salim of the embassy staff, and a diplomatic attaché, Zeina al-Masri, from The Minister's office.
