The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates // Chinese Foreign Minister Assures Minister Malki that his Country Stands with the Palestinian Right and Opposes Annexation

In response to his message regarding the occupation state's announcement of its decision to annex large parts of the occupied West Bank, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Riad Malki has received a message from his Chinese counterpart, Minister Wang Yi, in which he stressed China's deep concern about the unilateral plan to annex parts of the Palestinian territories, and the Chinese side’s rejection of this plan because it contravenes international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions. The Chinese minister stated that his country urges the Israeli side to stop taking any step that would escalate the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and it also urges the United States to take a responsible stance towards the history and long-term interests of the Palestinian and Israeli peoples.

Minister Wang Yi added that the Chinese side supports the Palestinian proposal, which was mentioned in Minister Dr Malki’s message about holding an international peace conference in order to provide a driving force for the crisis of peace negotiations. At the end of his message, the Chinese minister reiterated his country's steadfast stance in support of the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights, and support for the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign State of Palestine on the borders of 67 and its capital East Jerusalem, and that China stands together with Palestine and all peace-loving countries in the world to preserve on the two-state solution, the relevant UN resolutions, the land-for-peace principle, the Arab peace initiative and other international references and consensus, and China is pushing the two sides to quickly return on this basis to the correct path of settling differences through dialogue and consultations.
